SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, August 19 /PRNewswire/ — Outdoor Retailer, Salt
Lake City, August 2008: Traditionally, dark colored clothing has been the
choice for spending serious time in the outdoors. It doesn’t show dirt or the
wear and tear of hard use; yet dark fabrics worn in the summer come with the
cost of over-heating. With the introduction of coldblack(R), this is no
longer the case. Now you can choose dark colors for garments or tents and
stay cooler in hot, sunny conditions. coldblack(R) also offers UV protection
    (UPF) of at least 30.

coldblack(R) reflects up to 80% of the sun’s rays (both UV-A and UV-B)
making wearing dark colors feel like you are wearing light. coldblack(R)
finished apparel rates 5degreesC on the interior and 12degreesC on the
exterior cooler in sweating torso tests than the same untreated textiles.
With heat absorption significantly reduced, the wearer perspires less, feels
better and is capable of greater performance.

Development partner Mammut showed the first garments with coldblack(R),
including the Verglas Jacket at Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City. The
Verglas is intended for all-around outdoor use and also features breathable
and quick-drying Schoeller(R)-dryskin soft shell fabric and is finished with
NanoSphere(R) to shed dirt, stains, and moisture. Several of Mammut’s alpine
pants will also feature coldblack(R) in spring ‘09. The coldblack(R)
finishing process does not alter the feel or look of the base material and is
    permanent.

The double sun protection will prove to be of benefit in other markets,
such as tennis, golf, motorcycling or fashion and business wear, more product
developments are already in the pipeline.
